For Sale a well maintained, 2002 9-3 Viggen 5 door Steel Gray 129K miles. $10000

Hey Guys. As many of you may noticed that every now and then I put a feeler out for  one or two of my SAAB's so I can maybe buy another and start a another project :-). Typically I would not want to sell any of my SAAB;s  as they have been so wonderful to me and I can't even think of a better, more practical daily driver replacement that is as cool and fun as a 5 door Viggen.  So I am putting a feeler out there once more to see if any one is currently looking for well maintained Viggen. I'm really firm on the price as is so please do not bother if you you are not willing to pay the asking price for the car as is. There are many other viggens for sale on the web for much less, I would recommend you look at those first before you look at mine then decide which is worth your investment. Thank you and Happy Viggening :-).

Purchased in 2007 as a dream car that I always wanted from the day they were introduced in 1999. This car was and still is my dream car and I love driving it every day as my daily driver.  It's fast, reliable, comfortable. spacious and it turns heads and get thumps up every where it goes. In my opinion the car is fast enough  from the factory if you are using it as a daily driver and for some weekend spirited driving.

From the factory the Viggen suspension was not the best combination. The handling was supposed to be improved with stiffer springs and shocks but it wasn't.  The car had a stiff ride and leaned too far in turns. Also the torque steer was massive and could send you into the curb or the lane next to you if you are not ready to fight it. Therefore I have added to the Viggen the following essential upgrades to improve it's handling and ride quality. A couple of these upgrade were referred to as the Viggen Rescue Kit, and they were made and sold by different vendors with slightly different designs.

Here is a list  of those parts.

-  Steering rack clamp.

-
Six point subframe brace .

-  Stiffer upper strut brace.

-  Beefier front and rear anti roll bars.

-  Koni sport suspension kit which came with Koni adjustable shocks and blue colored lowereing springs made or stamped by Koni.

- 18x8  five spokes concave wheels wrapped in new 225 40 18 Michelin Pilot Super sport, The #1 Max performance Summer tire on the market.

-  New Front and rear high performance crossed drilled and slotted rotors with dust free ceramic Brake pads.

-
Granite Embedded I pod intergrated connection that works with steering wheel control and displays songs on the SID unit.

- European ( E-code) head light lenses with Hella Yellow Star bulbs for the best night vision you can get from a halogen bulb.

- Saab center armrest.

- Replaced all saab badges with Custom Viggen badges.

There are some other suspension parts you can add like polyurethane transmission and engine mounts, and some polyurethane suspension bushings.  I did not use any Polyurethane parts because my  goal was to improve handling while keeping the car as quite and smooth as it came from the factory.

the car is in great shape for it's age but currently it can use a new set of tires and the brake pads are probably due in a few month as well which is reflected in the current price.  This is the same car that was filmed last summer here

What you should also know is that the insurance totaled the car in 2010 after I hit a bolder on the side of the road. It was cheaper or easier for them to total the car than to fix it. After a lot of back and forth they paid me to fix the car and did not brand the title. They required a clean bill of health for the car to be insured again which was provided. The car was repaired by one of the best and most advanced body shops in NY that had a contract with SAAB , BMW and a few exotics dealerships. Since then I have been enjoying the car as usual as my daily driver and as weekend fun car. I probably put about 40k miles on the car since the repair was completed only a couple of weeks after the accident. I have driven the car on a cross country road trip and a lot of long distance drives. I have also enjoyed driving it on many weekend fun drives and car events.  As you see in the review by Matt Farha the car felt solid and had a great ride.  I can still say that this is the most solid and most reliable Viggen I have ever driven ,and I have driven many that friends came by to have me drive and check out for them. If you are interested in buying the car I would highly recommend that you get a pre prchase inspection at a SAAB repair shop and I would gladly take the car to any shop of your choice.

i just wanted to make sure that you know that even though the car does have a clean title.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

hi,

nice car.  not interested in buying as i have a 2000 viggen convertible but i noticed your wheels and they're hot!  Wondering if you can tell me what type they are and offset?  maybe where you got them as well?

Did you lower the suspension or use spacers or anything to get them to sit in the wheel wells so nicely?

Thanks!

Thanks. The wheels are Sports Edition Km11. 5x112 18x8 35mm offset. They are mounted using bbs wobble bolts and custom hub-rings. they are no longer available so finding a set for sale is almost impossible.
The car is lowered with Koni suspension kit which had Koni brand springs and Koni shocks. yes that is Koni springs which were a limited run before Koni started using vogtland springs in their suspension kits. No spacers are used just the right specs and design.

Thanks

Khaled

The car looks like it is in great condition inside and out but photos can be deceiving. I have 3 Saabs ranging from 45,000 to 90,000 but they are all in really good conditon inside and out. 2 are black and have the typical light scratches on them. otherwise they look awesome. Unfortunately I have looked at too many crappy cars where the owner had no pride in the look of the cars and since I live in Colorado I cant just come and look at your carww. So is the car as nice as it looks? Any mechanical, issues? What is the mileage? Thanks.

Hello Paul. the car is a daily driver so the photos do not show some of the imperfection scratches etc. here is a link showing photos with as much details as possible. http://s208.photobucket.com/user/saabtuners/library/VIGGEN%20photos%20October%202014?sort=3&page=2
