First post on the new forum! First of all thanks to Khaled for creating this cool new forum! Hope to see it thrive with many builds.


Anyways here is my baby (now sold). 2000 SAAB 9-3 Viggen. Lightening blue 5 door.
Running 20lbs of boost when I sold the car.
Tuned by Casey at BCB and Steve Hayes.
New owner had the car re-tuned and claims 432whp and 441lb/ft.

Engine:
*B234 block and cylinder head.
* Block: line honed, overbored, honed and plateau brushed. Blueprinted. Decked. Flashed. All new OE timing components including, timing chain, guides, main sprocket, camshaft sprockets. Crankshaft micro polished and zero balanced. NO balance shafts. GS balance shaft delete kit.
*New bearings. New thrust washers.
*Wossner pistons.
*Pauter 4340 chrome-molly billet x-beam connecting rods with ARP 2000 fasteners.
*Everything weight matched/balanced...
*Cylinder head (b234 t5): resurfaced, new valve stem seals, 3 angle valve job. Pressure checked. Port/gasket matched. T5 camshafts. Uprated GS valve springs. Polished oil returns.
     Everything in the engine replaced, seals gaskets, etc. Built to rev up to 8000rpm.
*b204 timing cover with the good straight cut oil pump (t5 oil pump). (Custom bracket made to retain stock power steering pump).
*ARP cylinder head studs and ARP main line studs.
*Custom hybrid intake manifold to retain stock t7 throttle body but retain the t5 injector angle.
*Genuine Saab Top mount turbo kit including: top mount exhaust manifold welded a support bracket to the flange as well as am using 12mm studs instead of 10mm. Top mount down pipe.
Garrett gt3071r turbo. Custom coolant and oil lines.
*Custom 3" exhaust from the down pipe back. TIG welded.
*ETS front mount intercooler (stock location). All clamps are constant torque type clamps. "T-clamps."
*New OE coolant hoses.
*NEW Nissen radiator.
*New OE high pressure power steering line, suction line and rack return line.
*New Hepu water pump.
*New Bosch 130amp alternator.
*Forge turbo bypass valve. 
*Custom 3" cold air intake that resides in the right front fender well.
*New OE IDM (direct ignition cassette).
*Clutch: Spec stage 3+ disc and pressure plate. Pressure plate and flywheel zero balanced and the harmonic balancer also zero balanced.
 *New serpentine belt.
*New PCV 6 update kit (with everything).
*New Meyle crankshaft position sensor.

*Transmission: Saab fm55401 (Viggen) transmission. Rebuilt. New OE Saab update kit. Every single bearing replaced, all new seals and gaskets. All pre-loads set on the the tight side of the specs... New updated style crush sleeve. New retainers, pinion nut, etc...
*Quaife LSD and ARP ring gear bolts. 4.05 ring/pinion.
*New OE slave cylinder. New OE master cylinder. New GS blue stainless steel clutch line.
*Rebuilt intermediate shaft (new bearing). Rebuilt Viggen axles, new bearings and new boots.

*Fuel: Aeromotive 340lph stealth fuel pump (in tank).
*Siemens 630cc 60lb/hr fuel injectors.
*New OE fuel filter.
*New OE MAF sensor.
*New OE coolant temp sensor.
*New Bosch upstream/forward o2 sensor.
*New 3.0 bar fuel pressure regulator.

*Wheels/tires/suspension:
*BBS RK1 17x8 wheels.
*Hankook Evo v12 tires.
*Genuine Saab "Race" solid upper strut mounts.
*Genuine Saab front adjustable coilovers.
* Koni adjustable "Race" series struts and shocks.
*Eibach custom spring rates, front and rear...
*Corner balanced!!!!!!!!!
*Genuine Saab rear anti roll bar. 22mm.
*Genuine Saab steering rack clamp and brace.
*New tie rod ends. OE.
*New control arms with new stanchion arm bushings. (that means ball joints, too).
*New front sway bar bushings and end links.
*New strut/thrust bearings.

Random/misc/gauges.
*Innovate Air fuel ratio sensor and gauge.
*Digital vacuum/boost gauge.
*Custom "A" pillar gauge mount. Looks factory.

Saab f25/f35 transmission tools!


Intercooler welded up after blowing it up on "high" boost. LOL.

BLOWN UP. Canyon race run, it was hysterical when it blew up.




Bypass valve relocation.

I sold it because I needed to make room for my next project! I never dynoed the car. New owner claims 430whp and 440~lb/ft. No idea if that is true or not.

I had the vehicle for about one year!


Next build is a RWD converted 1974 SAAB 99.
It is kind of on hold... Have some medical bills to pay off from a recent dirt bike accident, but I have accumulated a lot of parts and test fit the engine, made a down pipe, made the exhaust manifold. Some basic stuff to get it going.

 

 

 

Just a couple sneak peaks. Have a LOT more than that, but do not want to give it all away. Will make another thread for that once I have more accumulated.

Turbo is a Borg Warner s375r.
75mm compressor wheel.
5" inlet.
t4 twin scroll. 1.10A/r.
4" exhaust.

Goal is 1000hp on 30lbs of boost or less.

De tuned pull, only 18psi. Right when I was selling the car [frown].
